The Socialist Republic of Dada Nouveau is a massive, cultured nation, ruled by Calliope with an even hand, and notable for its museums and concert halls. Its compassionate, intelligent population of 2.783 billion are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Social Welfare, Education, and Social Equality. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Sans Salvidor Dali. The average income tax rate is 78%, and even higher for the wealthy. Private enterprise is illegal, but for those in the know there is a slick and highly efficient black market in Tourism.

All news sources are under strict government control, fewer people are bathing as citizens must show ration stamps before they can turn on their faucets, the new 'Things We Stole From Other Countries' exhibition at the National Museum of Antiquities is a hit, and citizens are encouraged to report friends, family members or co-workers who seem depressed to the government for "counselling". Crime is totally unknown, thanks to a well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Dada Nouveau's national animal is the gummy bear, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the found object.

Dada Nouveau is ranked 9th in Communist Beach and 25,814th in the world for Most Income Equality, scoring 156 on the Marx-Engels Emancipation Scale.
