Its hard-nosed, hard-working population of 4.642 billion are either ruled by a sleek, efficient government or a conglomerate of multinational corporations; it's difficult to tell which.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt, pro-business government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Defence, Education, and Law & Order. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of D Ritts City. The average income tax rate is 96%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, followed by Tourism and Gambling.

Protesters are up in arms over new nuclear power stations, hundreds of thousands of convicts work as slaves in D Ritts's many privately-owned prisons, same-sex marriages are increasingly common, and people reciting Shakespeare have become a common sight. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. D Ritts's national animal is the hart, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the silk.
