Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 1.025 billion are kept under strict control by the oppressive government, which measures its success by the nation's GDP and refers to individual citizens as "human resources."

The government is a law unto itself, frequent fliers are obliged to submit to invasive security procedures by government security, the country has been 'going shopping' by annexing nearby nations for their resources, and crooks and people with too many kids are being kicked out of the country. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Cylios's national animal is the cylindrical giraffe, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Cylinder.
