Overview Factbook Dispatches People Government Economy Trend Analysis

The Christian Democratic Nation of Culture of Life is a colossal, environmentally stunning nation, ruled by Gerard Majella with a fair hand, and notable for its museums and concert halls, state-planned economy, and devotion to social welfare. The compassionate, democratic, cheerful, devout population of 8.418 billion Culture-of-Lifers love a good election, and the government gives them plenty of them. Universities tend to be full of students debating the merits of various civil and political rights, while businesses are tightly regulated and the wealthy viewed with suspicion.

The tiny, socially-minded, outspoken government juggles the competing demands of Education, Welfare, and Social Policy. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of New Jerusalem. The average income tax rate is 2.5%, but much higher for the wealthy.

The very strong Culture-of-Life economy, worth 656 trillion vitas a year, is driven entirely by government activity, with private enterprise illegal. The industrial sector is mostly comprised of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out. Average income is 77,974 vitas, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

The new Refuse Hills housing development is under construction, Culture of Life's children are widely acknowledged as the most foul-mouthed in the region, the space program has been scrapped in order to focus on more terrestrial pursuits, and 'The Anti-Government Hour' is a popular programme on many of Culture of Life's radio stations. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Culture of Life's national animal is the dove, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its national religion is Catholicism.

Culture of Life is ranked 1st in Right to Life and 342nd in the world for Most Primitive, scoring 220 on the Scary Big Number Scale.
