The Christian Democratic Nation of Culture of Life is a colossal, genial nation, ruled by Gerard Majella with a fair hand, and notable for its hatred of cheese. Its compassionate, intelligent population of 6.532 billion love a good election, and the government gives them plenty of them. Universities tend to be full of students debating the merits of various civil and political rights, while businesses are tightly regulated and the wealthy viewed with suspicion.

There is no government in the normal sense of the word; however, a small group of community-minded, socially-minded individuals juggles the competing demands of Education, Social Equality, and Healthcare. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of New Jerusalem. Income tax is unheard of. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

The words 'private' and 'enterprise' must never appear in the same sentence, the government is financing an extremely costly war against malaria, millions of devastated 7-year-olds are denied astronaut and ballerina training, and all prisons have been eliminated. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is crippling, probably because of the country's utter lack of prisons. Culture of Life's national animal is the dove, which is also the nation's favorite main course, its national religion is Catholicism, and its currency is the vita.

Culture of Life is ranked 62nd in Right to Life and 120,368th in the world for Most Politically Apathetic Citizens, with -33 Whatever.
