The Realm of Cotland is a gargantuan, economically powerful nation, ruled by Mykledraug with an even hand, and renowned for its parental licensing program. Its hard-nosed, hard-working population of 16.369 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it concentrates mainly on Defence, although Education and Law & Order are on the agenda. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Eeobroht. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 17%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Uranium Mining industry, followed by Arms Manufacturing and Information Technology.

Police officers are seen patrolling the streets armed with satellite-guided truncheons, same-sex marriages are increasingly common, the mob and the police have recently had numerous clashes in the back alleys of Cotland's cities due to the government's steadfast anti-casino stance, and the armed forces are locked in an expensive and bloody war abroad to stamp out possible terrorists. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Cotland's national animal is the Lion, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Rikskrone.

Cotland is ranked 106th in New York and 84,649th in the world for Largest Insurance Industry, scoring -3 on the Risk Expulsion Effectiveness Rating.
