The Republic of Conhalert is a massive, safe nation, ruled by Jake Sanderson with a fair hand, and notable for its museums and concert halls. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 2.145 billion hold their civil and political rights very dear, although the wealthy and those in business tend to be viewed with suspicion.

A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Tourism industry, followed by Book Publishing and Gambling.

Inter-species marriages are ignored by the government, the government seizes all major gold finds, extreme political groups are outlawed, and the airship business has been driven out of the country by strict regulations and high fines. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Conhalert's national animal is the Great White Shark, which is also the nation's favorite main course, its national religion is Christian Egalitarianism, and its currency is the Dollar.
