The Anarcho-Socialist Federation of Communal Ecotopia is a massive, genial nation, ruled by Prime Minister Michael Neil with a fair hand, and notable for its happy-go-lucky citizens. Its compassionate, intelligent population of 2.659 billion hold their civil and political rights very dear, although the wealthy and those in business tend to be viewed with suspicion.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, liberal government stops and the rest of society begins, but it is effectively ruled by the Department of Social Welfare, with areas such as Religion & Spirituality and Defence receiving almost no funds by comparison. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Goldmanville. The average income tax rate is 46%, but much higher for the wealthy. A robust private sector is dominated by the Tourism industry.

Teams of painters are converting road signs from horse lengths to kilometers, the government is spending millions on renovating the public transportation system, soylent products are an expensive commodity due to a lack of volunteers, and the government has begun selling heroin and ecstasy to help fund its projects. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is a serious problem, and the police force struggles against a lack of funding and a high mortality rate. Communal Ecotopia's national animal is the Red Deer, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the Eco-Dollar.
