OverviewPeopleGovernmentEconomyTrendAnalysis

The Empire of Common Territories is a colossal, safe nation, ruled by Emperor JC with an even hand, and renowned for its punitive income tax rates. Its hard-nosed, hard-working population of 5.327 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it devotes most of its attentions to Defence, with areas such as Religion & Spirituality and the Environment receiving almost no funds by comparison. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Empire City. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 51%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, followed by Woodchip Exports and Uranium Mining.

School uniforms are compulsory, citizens live in superstitious fear of the mysterious glowing clouds that float over Common Territories, the country's famous rainforests are being bulldozed by the mining industry, and the government is reining in public spending. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Common Territories's national animal is the Wolf, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the Imperial Dollar.

Common Territories is ranked 1st in The Empire of Common Territories and 6,232nd in the world for Largest Mining Sector, scoring 7 on the Blue Sky Asbestos Index.
