The Republique of Clergue is a gargantuan, safe nation, remarkable for its complete absence of social welfare. Its compassionate population of 14.756 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

There is no government in the normal sense of the word; however, a small group of community-minded individuals devotes most of its attentions to Education, with areas such as Social Equality and Religion & Spirituality receiving almost no funds by comparison. The average income tax rate is 10%, but much higher for the wealthy. A large private sector is dominated by the Uranium Mining industry.

Clergue is notorious for its citizens' infidelity, major cities shut down as their local sports team takes to the field every day, child labor has been outlawed, and the mob and the police have recently had numerous clashes in the back alleys of Clergue's cities due to the government's steadfast anti-casino stance. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Clergue's national animal is the wolf, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the dollar.

Clergue is ranked 2nd in Morocco and 13,963rd in the world for Most Compassionate Citizens, scoring 8 on the Kitten Softness Rating.
