In their personal lives, however, citizens are relatively unoppressed; it remains to be seen whether this is because the government genuinely cares about its people, or if it hasn't gotten around to stamping out civil rights yet.

The government extracts trade concessions from poor nations in exchange for humanitarian aid, a fashion designer has been arrested for inciting hatred after claiming redheads couldn't pull off vermillion, the government is cracking down on subversive groups, and criminals are put to death while cuddling their favourite teddy bear. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Christian IX's national animal is the Swan, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, its national religion is The Danish Cosmarchy Church, and its currency is the Krone.
