Overview • PeopleGovernmentEconomyTrendAnalysis

The United Socialist States of Chicom is a massive, safe nation, ruled by Ur-Ring Gadu with an even hand, and remarkable for its strong anti-business politics. Its hard-nosed population of 1.06 billion are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it devotes most of its attentions to Law & Order, with areas such as Religion & Spirituality and Commerce receiving almost no funds by comparison. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of People's City . The average income tax rate is 86%, and even higher for the wealthy. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

The people are furious with the government for allowing citizens to be executed for petty crimes in foreign countries, notable individuals are granted land and titles, the government has cut its subsidies for all special interest groups, and commercial jingles have been ham-handedly forced into world renowned symphonies. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Chicom's national animal is the Zionists, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the renin.

Chicom is ranked 128th in USSR and 95,989th in the world for Largest Insurance Industry, scoring -6 on the Risk Expulsion Effectiveness Rating.
