Overview • PeopleGovernmentEconomyTrendAnalysis

The Liberty loving egalitarians of Charra is a massive, socially progressive nation, notable for its ban on automobiles. Its compassionate, hard-working, intelligent population of 4.197 billion enjoy a sensible mix of personal and economic freedoms, while the political process is open and the people's right to vote held sacrosanct.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, Public Transport, and Social Welfare. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 41%. A large private sector is dominated by the Gambling industry.

Graffiti graces every city's streets, a government program is underway to revitalize Charra's beaches, citizens are encouraged to report friends, family members or co-workers who seem depressed to the government for "counselling", and public footpaths are being slowly eroded by the burgeoning number of ramblers. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is pervasive, probably because of the country's utter lack of prisons. Charra's national animal is the worm, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the pound.

Charra is ranked 4th in Liberty and 19,133rd in the world for Largest Insurance Industry, scoring 3 on the Risk Expulsion Effectiveness Rating.
