It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, liberal government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, Commerce, and Defence. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Control room. The average income tax rate is 61%, and even higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Information Technology, Arms Manufacturing, and Furniture Restoration industries.

Prime real estate is devoted to wind farms and solar energy generators, the nation has an international reputation for compassion, inter-species marriages are ignored by the government, and corporations cut costs by taking away safety-features on their products. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is crippling, and the police force struggles against a lack of funding and a high mortality rate. Chamber of Randomness's national animal is the Ood, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the vortex Manipulator.
