The Constitutional Republic of Chadacian is a colossal, cultured nation, ruled by Chancellor Iarothryn Notting with an iron fist, and notable for its keen interest in outer space. Its compassionate, hard-working, cynical population of 6.128 billion are kept under strict control by the oppressive government, which measures its success by the nation's GDP and refers to individual citizens as "human resources."

The large, corrupt government is mainly concerned with Defence, although Religion & Spirituality and Law & Order are secondary priorities. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Nysrodu. The average income tax rate is 27%, but much higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Book Publishing industry.

Children are raised bilingual from an early age, Lullaby Swan owners exercise their pets at a snail's pace or risk a court appearance, biology and religious education classes have recently been merged, and the nation's new foreign policy of 'very disproportionate retribution' has its neighbors on edge. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Chadacian's national animal is the Lullaby Swan, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, its national religion is mixed, and its currency is the Golden Crown.
