The Colony of Cedar Hall City-State is a colossal, devout nation, ruled by Jay Myers with an even hand, and remarkable for its restrictive gun laws. The hard-nosed population of 6.759 billion Tropical Islesians have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, Commerce, and Law & Order. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Cedar Hall. The average income tax rate is 100%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Tourism industry, followed by Book Publishing and Woodchip Exports.

An increasing percentage of the population's youth have homosexual parents, politicians accepting drinks in bars are executed for taking bribes, major cities are suffering under water rationing, and the government is phasing in welfare programmes to tackle poverty. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Cedar Hall City-State's national animal is the cat, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, its national religion is Christianity, and its currency is the Platinum Dollar.

Cedar Hall City-State is ranked 34th in Tropical Isles and 4,460th in the world for Longest Average Lifespans, scoring 38 on the Enoch Index.
