The Armed Republic of Canadaestan is a massive, environmentally stunning nation, ruled by Glorious Canuck with an iron fist, and remarkable for its keen interest in outer space. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 2.794 billion are ruled by a mostly-benevolent dictator, who grants the populace the freedom to live their own lives but watches carefully for anyone to slip up.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it is mainly concerned with Law & Order, although Defence and the Environment are on the agenda. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of The Citadel. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 77%. A tiny private sector is dominated by the Arms Manufacturing industry.

Animal Liberationists are regularly jailed, the controversial show 'Who Wants to be an Immigrant?' has become wildly popular, citizens are regularly arrested in queues for 'loitering', and Glorious Canuck has been known to threaten dissenting citizens with a machine gun at press conferences. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Canadaestan's national animal is the Dove, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the Worth.

Canadaestan is ranked 59th in Yggdrasil and 13,485th in the world for Largest Public Sector, scoring 20 on the Bureaucratic Comprehensiveness Rating Scale Index.
