The Communist Republic of Bulgoria is a gargantuan, cultured nation, ruled by Nick Sturm with an iron fist, and remarkable for its barren, inhospitable landscape. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 10.231 billion are ruled by a mostly-benevolent dictator, who grants the populace the freedom to live their own lives but watches carefully for anyone to slip up.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it devotes most of its attentions to Social Welfare, with areas such as Religion & Spirituality and the Environment receiving almost no funds by comparison. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Sofija . The average income tax rate is 41%, but much higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, followed by Book Publishing and Uranium Mining.

The people of Bulgoria are renowned for their nihilistic attitudes, postmen have been arrested in job lots for selling junk mail as home insulation, teams of painters are converting road signs from horse lengths to kilometers, and cars speed down national highways while drivers sleep at the wheel. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Bulgoria's national animal is the Wild Cat, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Lev.

Bulgoria is ranked 15th in Soviet Union and 98,711th in the world for Largest Insurance Industry, scoring -7 on the Risk Expulsion Effectiveness Rating.
