The United Kingdom of Brutland and Norden is a gargantuan, economically powerful nation, ruled by King Kyle II with a fair hand, and renowned for its sprawling nuclear power plants. Its compassionate, hard-working, intelligent population of 11.85 billion enjoy a sensible mix of personal and economic freedoms, while the political process is open and the people's right to vote held sacrosanct.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it concentrates mainly on Social Welfare, although Education and Defence are on the agenda. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Kingsville. The average income tax rate is 70%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Book Publishing industry, followed by Information Technology and Beef-Based Agriculture.

Parents must choose their children's names from a government-mandated master list, the government has cut taxes in the face of widespread tax evasion, the government is attempting to revitalize a gutted private sector, and employers may fire workers without giving any reason. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Brutland and Norden's national animal is the Brute cow, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the livro.
