The Holy Empire of BoudreauxLand is a massive, economically powerful nation, ruled by op with an iron fist, and remarkable for its parental licensing program. Its hard-nosed, cynical population of 3.169 billion are ruled by a mostly-benevolent dictator, who grants the populace the freedom to live their own lives but watches carefully for anyone to slip up.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Defence, Law & Order, and Religion & Spirituality. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Boudreaux. The average income tax rate is 67%, and even higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Uranium Mining industry, followed by Arms Manufacturing and Information Technology.

There have been sightings of people walking around dressed in nothing but leopard-skin g-strings for 'religious reasons', nine out of ten citizens of BoudreauxLand answered 'nuclear safety inspector' when asked their occupation, students who refuse to pray are expelled from school, and foreigners are treated with great suspicion. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. BoudreauxLand's national animal is the Rugaru, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, its national religion is Roman Catholicism, and its currency is the Crawfish Sack.
