The People's Republic of BosmanJ is a huge, genial nation, remarkable for its strong anti-business politics. Its compassionate, intelligent population of 654 million love a good election, and the government gives them plenty of them. Universities tend to be full of students debating the merits of various civil and political rights, while businesses are tightly regulated and the wealthy viewed with suspicion.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, socially-minded government stops and the rest of society begins, but it concentrates mainly on Education, although Healthcare and Social Equality are on the agenda. Roads are often attended by round-the-clock construction crews, the nation is constantly threatened with invasion but at least homosexuality in the military isn't a problem, crime has increased substantially since the police concentrated all their efforts on arresting the rich for loitering in their own homes, and trespassers often find themselves impaled by crossbow bolts. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is moderate, and the police force struggles against a lack of funding and a high mortality rate. BosmanJ's national animal is the Sea Cucumber, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the Barbaro.

BosmanJ is ranked 111th in Communist International League and 99,041st in the world for Largest Insurance Industry, scoring -8 on the Risk Expulsion Effectiveness Rating.
