The Confederate States of Blumaria is a colossal, cultured nation, ruled by President Jackson Bush with an even hand, and remarkable for its sprawling nuclear power plants. Its hard-nosed, hard-working population of 6.278 billion are either ruled by a sleek, efficient government or a conglomerate of multinational corporations; it's difficult to tell which.

The government -- a sprawling, bureaucracy-choked, corrupt, pro-business morass -- devotes most of its attentions to Defence, with areas such as Social Equality and Social Welfare receiving almost no funds by comparison. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Jakobsburg. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 15%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, followed by Information Technology and Uranium Mining.

Discarded pennies litter the streets, travel bureaus double as recruiting centers for national intelligence agencies, citizens living in underground cities have developed a healthy green glow, and the nation's soldiers are considered the best-dressed in North Africa. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is relatively low, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Blumaria's national animal is the Great Eagle, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, its national religion is Christianity, and its currency is the Blumsmark.

Blumaria is ranked 34th in North Africa and 43,011th in the world for Highest Drug Use, scoring 77 on the Pineapple Fondness Rating.
