The Republic of Blau Stein is a colossal, economically powerful nation, ruled by Ron Paul with a fair hand, and notable for its sprawling nuclear power plants. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 7.904 billion live in a state of perpetual fear, as a complete breakdown of social order has led to the rise of order through biker gangs.

There is no government in the normal sense of the word; however, a small group of community-minded, pro-business individuals juggles the competing demands of Education, Defence, and Law & Order. Income tax is unheard of. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Information Technology industry, followed by Book Publishing and Uranium Mining.

Saturday morning cartoons feature full frontal nudity, cheese has become the new icon of political dissent, muscular women are banned from competing in sporting competitions, and only 'organics' are permitted to be citizens. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is crippling. Blau Stein's national animal is the sea otter, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Gold Dollar.
