The Democratic Republic of Bhudonia is a massive, safe nation, ruled by El Presidente with an iron fist, and remarkable for its hatred of cheese. Its hard-nosed, cynical population of 1.587 billion are ruled without fear or favor by a psychotic dictator, who outlaws just about everything and refers to the populace as "my little playthings."
It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt, moralistic government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, Law & Order, and Defence. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Dugongia. The average income tax rate is 91%, and even higher for the wealthy. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.
Breastfeeding mothers are replacing smokers to loiter outside the workplace, retiring citizens are dragged away in the middle of the night by mysterious men in black suits, strange looking men with big red noses are found hiding behind bushes and inside dustbins, and politicians constantly ring their voters to remind them how good a job they're doing. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Bhudonia's national animal is the Purple Crested Dugong, which is also the nation's favorite main course, its national religion is El Presidenteism, and its currency is the Bhudon.
Bhudonia is ranked 16th in Communist International League and 9,676th in the world for Most Influential, scoring 40 on the Soft Power Disbursement Rating.
