The Mayor for a Day of Badness Gracious is a colossal, socially progressive nation, ruled by The Hon Ignatius Molehell with a fair hand, and renowned for its absence of drug laws. Its compassionate, hard-working, intelligent population of 7.363 billion enjoy a sensible mix of personal and economic freedoms, while the political process is open and the people's right to vote held sacrosanct.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Social Welfare, Education, and Social Equality. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 80%. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Book Publishing industry.

Most of the nation's wealthy aristocrats are dentists, suburban families are finding themselves increasingly short on food as they waste precious water on their lawns, mothers are routinely abandoning their children in the name of women's rights, and Animal Liberationists are regularly jailed. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is pervasive, and the police force struggles against a lack of funding and a high mortality rate. Badness Gracious's national animal is the brimstone bunny, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the mammonium.
