The Commonwealth of AverageBob is a massive, cultured nation, ruled by Cantbe Bobvila with a fair hand, and remarkable for its barren, inhospitable landscape. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 2.167 billion hold their civil and political rights very dear, although the wealthy and those in business tend to be viewed with suspicion.

The enormous, liberal government juggles the competing demands of Education, Healthcare, and Public Transport. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of New Juryrig. The average income tax rate is 3%, but much higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Book Publishing industry.

Religion is strictly forbidden within school grounds, organ donation rates are among the lowest in the region, a study has shown that many parents are too embarrassed to teach their children sex education, and crime is on the rise as DNA sampling has been all but outlawed. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. AverageBob's national animal is the ostrich, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the avbo.
