Its hard-nosed, hard-working population of 7.425 billion are either ruled by a sleek, efficient government or a conglomerate of multinational corporations; it's difficult to tell which.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt, pro-business government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Defence, Law & Order, and Commerce. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Crown. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 43%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Information Technology industry, followed by Book Publishing and Door-to-door Insurance Sales.

Penurious citizens die from easily remedied ailments because they aren't 'taking enough initiative', door-to-door salesmen are frequently beaten up by 'vigilantes', crime suspects are forced to submit to blood testing, and the nation has welcomed its expats back with open arms. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is crippling. Australius's national animal is the Duck-Billed Platypus, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, its national religion is Roman Catholicism, and its currency is the Australian Dollar.

Australius is ranked 2nd in Atlantic and 3,090th in the world for Largest Insurance Industry, scoring 7 on the Risk Expulsion Effectiveness Rating.
