The Reis-i Cumhur of Atrigeas is a massive, cultured nation, ruled by Nuri Alço with an even hand, and renowned for its sprawling nuclear power plants. Its compassionate, hard-working, intelligent population of 3.557 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

The minute government, or what there is of one, juggles the competing demands of Education, Defence, and Healthcare. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Atrigeas City. The average income tax rate is 3%, but much higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Book Publishing industry, followed by Furniture Restoration and Information Technology.

Major cities are suffering under water rationing, the government seizes all major gold finds, religious figures have been banned from public holidays to make them more multicultural, and graffiti graces every city's streets. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is a major problem. Atrigeas's national animal is the Haymana beygiri, and its currency is the Triga.

Atrigeas is ranked 199th in Atrigeas and 122,114th in the world for Most Eco-Friendly Governments, scoring -17 on the Dolphin Recycling Awareness Index.
