The Sublime Island Kingdom of Astrolinium is a colossal, economically powerful nation, ruled by King Astorias Maldivis III with an even hand, and notable for its complete lack of prisons. Its compassionate, intelligent population of 6.829 billion enjoy extensive civil rights and enjoy a level of social equality free from the usual accompanying government corruption.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, liberal government stops and the rest of society begins, but it concentrates mainly on Education, although the Environment and Social Equality are secondary priorities. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Astrolinium. The average income tax rate is 69%, and even higher for the wealthy. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

The number of students attending university has reached a record high, tourists from around the world come to visit the country's famous rainforests, Max Barry is this year's Miss Astrolinium, and 'The Anti-Government Hour' is a popular programme on many of Astrolinium's radio stations. Crime is totally unknown. Astrolinium's national animal is the Bottlenose Dolphin, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the Australe.

Astrolinium is ranked 80th in Ankh Mauta and 116,423rd in the world for Largest Mining Sector, scoring -7 on the Blue Sky Asbestos Index.
