The Empire of Asian Union is a massive, economically powerful nation, ruled by Kami-sama with an iron fist, and remarkable for its anti-smoking policies. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 1.957 billion are ruled by a mostly-benevolent dictator, who grants the populace the freedom to live their own lives but watches carefully for anyone to slip up.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Education, and Defence. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Almagemachina. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 71%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, followed by Tourism and Information Technology.

Citizens have reported seeing strange rays of light emanating from the moon, euthanasia is legal, the nation's infamous boot camp is more brutal than most battlefields, and children have taken to using semaphore in light of the recent mobile phone ban. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Asian Union's national animal is the Dango, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, its national religion is Secular Humanism, and its currency is the Rupee.

Asian Union is ranked 4,013th in The North Pacific and 90,419th in the world for Most Income Equality, scoring 78 on the Marx-Engels Emancipation Scale.
