The Republic of Arming Republics is a colossal, environmentally stunning nation, remarkable for its punitive income tax rates. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 7.359 billion are rabid consumers, partly through choice and partly because the government tells them to and dissenters tend to vanish from their homes at night.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Defence, Social Welfare, and Law & Order. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 74%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing, Retail, and Pizza Delivery industries.

The government has started a campaign to crack down on road rage and encourage alternate means of commuting, the government has taken a 'sort it out yourselves' approach to fighting malaria, citizens live in superstitious fear of the mysterious glowing clouds that float over Arming Republics, and environmental protestors are being rounded up and taken away in sinister black vans as a massive land development campaign gets underway. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Arming Republics's national animal is the raven, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the bone.
