All forms of advertising are banned, military recruitment numbers are down as citizens object on 'moral grounds', the mining industry has taken a hit from tighter environmental regulations, and motorists must pay to enter inner-cities during peak hours. Crime is pervasive, and the police force struggles against a lack of funding and a high mortality rate. Ardencord's national animal is the bone-headed gazelle, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, its national religion is Ennoic Ardonism, and its currency is the lia.
