The Heavily Armed Super Power of Archidamus is a colossal, cultured nation, ruled by Kevin Porter with an even hand, and notable for its keen interest in outer space. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 5.014 billion are either ruled by a sleek, efficient government or a conglomerate of multinational corporations; it's difficult to tell which.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Defence, Law & Order, and Commerce. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Archidamus City. The average income tax rate is 31%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Beef-Based Agriculture, Tourism, and Arms Manufacturing industries.

Elevator music has been replaced by thrash metal played at maximum volume, children as young as eight can be found working in factories, Saturday morning cartoons feature full frontal nudity, and Stinks are considered a delicacy. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Archidamus's national animal is the Stink, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the Goralnik.
