The Confederacy of Araset is a massive, cultured nation, ruled by Robilt with an even hand, and notable for its devotion to social welfare. Its compassionate, intelligent population of 3.311 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it concentrates mainly on Religion & Spirituality, although Law & Order and Defence are on the agenda. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Fort Toript. The average income tax rate is 75%, and even higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Tourism industry, followed by Automobile Manufacturing and Woodchip Exports.

The institution of marriage is held sacred and strictly enforced, research into 'designer babies' is banned, local executives are seen on the corner with cardboard signs reading "will oppress the masses for food", and mining is the nation's most dangerous occupation. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Araset's national animal is the wolf, which is also the nation's favorite main course, its national religion is Catholicism, and its currency is the dolipian.
