The Sultanate of Ar-Rayyan is a colossal, environmentally stunning nation, ruled by Sultan Muhammad Al-Azhar with an even hand, and remarkable for its hatred of cheese. The compassionate, hard-working population of 7.957 billion Ar-Rayyanians have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, Defence, and Social Welfare. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Al-Midan. The average income tax rate is 99%. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

Birth rates have hit an all-time low, the government is flooded with compensation requests, children as young as six shock their parents by coming out of the closet, and punitive tariffs protect local industry. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Ar-Rayyan's national animal is the Lion, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, its national religion is Islam, and its currency is the Riyal.

Ar-Rayyan is ranked 60th in United Empire of Islam and 111,781st in the world for Rudest Citizens, with -186.9 Insults Per Minute (net).
