The Protectorate of Aquadale is a massive, devout nation, renowned for its keen interest in outer space. Its compassionate population of 3.12 billion are prohibited from doing almost everything except voting, which they do timidly and conservatively.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, socially-minded government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Religion & Spirituality, the Environment, and Law & Order. The average income tax rate is 56%, and even higher for the wealthy. Private enterprise is illegal, but for those in the know there is a slick and highly efficient black market in Arms Manufacturing.

Murderers frequently escape punishment by claiming they were protecting their honour, citizens are barcoded to keep track of their movements, organ donation is compulsory, and parents are held criminally responsible for their children's crimes. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is well under control, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Aquadale's national animal is the Parhean Rhinoceros, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the Parhean Tongbo.

Aquadale is ranked 656th in the Rejected Realms and 27,273rd in the world for Most Income Equality, scoring 154 on the Marx-Engels Emancipation Scale.
