The Grand Imperium of Apocryphi is a massive, safe nation, ruled by Emperor Azor I with an iron fist, and remarkable for its keen interest in outer space. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 2.566 billion are ruled by a mostly-benevolent dictator, who grants the populace the freedom to live their own lives but watches carefully for anyone to slip up.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Commerce, Healthcare, and Law & Order. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Arche. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 31%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Information Technology, Gambling, and Tourism industries.

TV shows must meet strict ethnicity quotas, new safety regulations require all cars manufactured in Apocryphi to be bombproof, traffic jams are a common sight due to construction work from a massive overhaul of the nation's freeways, and only 'organics' are permitted to be citizens. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Apocryphi's national animal is the Azure Plume Eagle, which is also the nation's favorite main course, its national religion is Agnostic, and its currency is the Nomisma.

Apocryphi is ranked 3rd in Imperial League of Nations and 1,865th in the world for Largest Insurance Industry, scoring 9 on the Risk Expulsion Effectiveness Rating.
