The Dominion of APKF is a massive, economically powerful nation, ruled by General with an iron fist, and remarkable for its sprawling nuclear power plants. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 1.27 billion are ruled by a mostly-benevolent dictator, who grants the populace the freedom to live their own lives but watches carefully for anyone to slip up.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Defence, Law & Order, and Education. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Nova Aurora . The average income tax rate is 58%, and even higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Information Technology, Arms Manufacturing, and Beef-Based Agriculture industries.

Inter-species marriages are ignored by the government, drug distribution is tightly controlled by the government, urban high-volume mailers now receive their mail via chauffeur-driven limousines, and the armed forces are locked in an expensive and bloody war abroad to stamp out possible terrorists. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. APKF's national animal is the Grizzly Bear, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the human soul.
