The Allied States of Antharos is a massive, devout nation, ruled by Kamote with an even hand, and notable for its ban on automobiles. Its compassionate population of 1.972 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, Commerce, and Defence. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Antharos City. The average income tax rate is 97%. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Arms Manufacturing industry.

Religious education is a new government priority, the government tries to improve relations with hostile countries by sending gift baskets, only fully-fledged members of MENSA are allowed to vote, and droves of former desperados are applying to join the border police. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Antharos's national animal is the poring, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, its national religion is Kamoteism, and its currency is the pangya.
