The Glorious Imperium of Antariel is a colossal, environmentally stunning nation, ruled by Emperor Asmodei with an iron fist, and remarkable for its national health service. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 5.027 billion are ruled by a mostly-benevolent dictator, who grants the populace the freedom to live their own lives but watches carefully for anyone to slip up.

The medium-sized, corrupt government is mainly concerned with Law & Order, although Education and Defence are secondary priorities. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of the Citadel of Shadow. The average income tax rate is 16%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Information Technology industry, followed by Arms Manufacturing and Book Publishing.

Private business has started paving paradises and putting up parking lots, the military is blowing up any threat to employment within the nation, membership in the state-owned Church of Antariel is mandatory and all other faith organisations are banned, and bicyclists are banned from major roads. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Antariel's national animal is the Tasmanian Devil, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, its national religion is bowing to the Emperor, and its currency is the Kral.
