The Republic of Angelina is a huge, safe nation, renowned for its strong anti-business politics. Its compassionate, cynical population of 456 million are ruled by a mostly-benevolent dictator, who grants the populace the freedom to live their own lives but watches carefully for anyone to slip up.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it devotes most of its attentions to Social Welfare, with areas such as Religion & Spirituality and Law & Order receiving almost no funds by comparison. The average income tax rate is 52%, and even higher for the wealthy. Private enterprise is illegal, but for those in the know there is a slick and highly efficient black market in Beef-Based Agriculture.

A crusade against barbaric religious practices has begun, naturists are jailed regularly for indecent exposure, the public health bureaucracy is wrapped in miles of red tape, and frequent fliers are obliged to submit to invasive security procedures by government security. Crime is totally unknown. Angelina's national animal is the Aqua Lion, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the Diamond.
