OverviewPeopleGovernmentEconomyTrendAnalysis

The Democratic Socialist State of Ambrok is a gargantuan, cultured nation, ruled by Karl Dubois with a fair hand, and remarkable for its sprawling nuclear power plants. The compassionate, intelligent population of 13.011 billion Ambrocians are free to do what they want with their own bodies, and vote for whomever they like in elections; if they go into business, however, they are regulated to within an inch of their lives.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, the Environment, and Social Equality. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Dagstamp. The average income tax rate is 87%, and even higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Tourism industry.

Much of Ambrok's computer network is controlled by a rampant artificial intelligence, retirement homes are often fitted with luxurious suites, political parties are banned from advertising and receiving private donations, and commercial jingles have been ham-handedly forced into world renowned symphonies. Crime is totally unknown. Ambrok's national animal is the beaver, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the gol.

Ambrok is ranked 149th in Canada and 97,627th in the world for Largest Welfare Programs, scoring -7 on the Safety Net Mesh Density Rating.
