It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Social Welfare, Education, and Defence. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Illesia City. The average income tax rate is 92%, and even higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Tourism industry.

The newspaper industry is subsidised by the government in order to keep it afloat, citizens wishing to leave the country must surrender half their wealth to the government, most of the nation's wealthy aristocrats are dentists, and the government pours millions of Sedars into rehabilitation programs annually. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Alversia's national animal is the Wolf, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the Sedar.
