The Ecotopian Republic of Allemonde is a gargantuan, socially progressive nation, ruled by no leader with a fair hand, and remarkable for its unlimited-speed roads. Its compassionate, intelligent population of 21.126 billion are free to do what they want with their own bodies, and vote for whoever they like in elections; if they go into business, however, they are regulated to within an inch of their lives.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, the Environment, and Social Equality. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Allemonde City. The average income tax rate is 100%. Private enterprise is illegal, but for those in the know there is a slick and highly efficient black market in Book Publishing.

The Allemonde Automotive Racing Series draws millions of spectators annually while those near the tracks complain about the noise, piracy is the nation's most popular pastime, citizens may cast their vote over the internet or phone, and the fire protection service is wholly government-funded. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Allemonde's national animal is the Spotted Wildcat, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the E-Credit.

Allemonde is ranked 1st in Ecotopia and 174th in the world for Largest Public Sector, scoring 58 on the Bureaucratic Comprehensiveness Rating Scale Index.
