The Amarantine Empire of Aleisyr is a gargantuan, economically powerful nation, ruled by Katerina Tei'ra Savar with an iron fist, and remarkable for its punitive income tax rates. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 18.446 billion are rabid consumers, partly through choice and partly because the government tells them to and dissenters tend to vanish from their homes at night.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it devotes most of its attentions to Social Welfare, with areas such as Defence and the Environment receiving almost no funds by comparison. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Savar'sa. The average income tax rate is 96%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Uranium Mining industry, followed by Book Publishing and Information Technology.

The lowest age at which one can marry has been recently lowered to 12, 'A is for Annulment' is a popular children's song, employers may fire workers without giving any reason, and college students make ends meet by selling their kidneys. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Aleisyr's national animal is the Cardinal, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, its national religion is Aleisyrian Polytheism, and its currency is the Franco.

Aleisyr is ranked 5th in the Pacific and 47th in the world for Largest Trout Fishing Sector, scoring 27 on the Nemo Depletion Efficiency Index.
