The Amarantine Empire of Aleisyr is a gargantuan, safe nation, ruled by Katerina Tei'ra Savar with an iron fist, and notable for its sprawling nuclear power plants. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 20.769 billion are ruled by a mostly-benevolent dictator, who grants the populace the freedom to live their own lives but watches carefully for anyone to slip up.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, Commerce, and Social Welfare. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Amian. The average income tax rate is 100%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Uranium Mining industry, followed by Book Publishing and Information Technology.

Elections are outlawed and a hairstylist has recently received a government appointment, referenda are banned by law and the Parliament has absolute control of the legislative process, citizens applying for their first jobs face fierce competition from the homeless, and a large-scale revitalization of the education system is underway. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Aleisyr's national animal is the Cardinal, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, its national religion is Aleisyrian Polytheism, and its currency is the Franco.
