The International Monarchy of Alegasias is a massive, safe nation, ruled by President Connor with a fair hand, and remarkable for its museums and concert halls. The compassionate, hard-working, intelligent population of 4.252 billion Alegasiasians hold their civil and political rights very dear, although the wealthy and those in business tend to be viewed with suspicion.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, liberal government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, the Environment, and Social Welfare. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Uru'Baean. The average income tax rate is 91%, and even higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Tourism industry.

Traveller camps regularly block five-lane superhighways, the state pays for care of easily preventable illnesses, bus ads propagandize causes ranging from sexual revolution to religious pogroms, and the government recently relinquished its monopoly on the mail service. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Alegasias's national animal is the Dragon, which soars majestically through the nation's famously clear skies, its national religion is Christianity, and its currency is the Crown.

Alegasias is ranked 105th in Lazarus and 2,983rd in the world for Longest Average Lifespans, scoring 41 on the Enoch Index.
