The Confederacy of Ajoria is a gargantuan, economically powerful nation, ruled by The Illustrious Potentate with an even hand, and remarkable for its sprawling nuclear power plants. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 19.41 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

There is no government in the normal sense of the word; however, a small group of community-minded individuals juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Defence, and Education. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Reaganville. Income tax is unheard of. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Information Technology industry.

All weapon research has been banned, Saturday morning cartoons feature full frontal nudity, local executives are seen on the corner with cardboard signs reading "will oppress the masses for food", and politicians are to be found scavenging bins at night to supplement their income. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Ajoria's national animal is the Sloth, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the Hoju.

Ajoria is ranked 10th in Capitalist Paradise and 480th in the world for Largest Trout Fishing Sector, scoring 14 on the Nemo Depletion Efficiency Index.
