The Empire of Aglorea is a colossal, safe nation, ruled by Emperor John Press with an even hand, and remarkable for its sprawling nuclear power plants. Its hard-nosed, hard-working population of 6.631 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Education, and Healthcare. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Aglorea City. The average income tax rate is 46%, but much higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Arms Manufacturing industry.

The police crack down on tax evaders without mercy, the government has begun breaking all large businesses into thousands of mom-and-pop general stores, CEOs can't hear the term 'Fire Sale' without bursting into tears, and the nation is ravaged by daily union strikes. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Aglorea's national animal is the timber wolf, which is also the nation's favorite main course, its national religion is a major religion, and its currency is the dollar.
