The Barony of Afgambistan is a massive, safe nation, ruled by Bastardus Maximus with an iron fist, and remarkable for its unlimited-speed roads. Its hard-nosed, cynical population of 3.46 billion are proud of their wide-ranging civil freedoms, and those who aren't tend to be dragged off the streets by men in dark suits and hustled into cars with tinted windows.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt, liberal government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Defence, Education, and Commerce. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Afgambistan City. The average income tax rate is 38%, but much higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Book Publishing, Automobile Manufacturing, and Arms Manufacturing industries.

It is mandatory to learn evolution in schools, artists are pillars of society, the Afgambistan Enquirer offers weekly cash prizes for 'most blasphemous song, story, or cartoon', and organ donation rates have hit a new low. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Afgambistan's national animal is the albino snow wombat, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the coin.

Afgambistan is ranked 27th in The New Inquisition and 4,927th in the world for Largest Trout Fishing Sector, scoring 5 on the Nemo Depletion Efficiency Index.
