Its hard-nosed, intelligent population of 2.4 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Healthcare, Education, and Social Welfare. A robust private sector is dominated by the Tourism industry.

Scenic mountain valleys are flooded with water as damming projects get underway, nine out of ten citizens of Aerovale answered 'nuclear safety inspector' when asked their occupation, schoolchildren have twice-weekly sex education classes, and euthanasia is legal. Crime is totally unknown. Aerovale's national animal is the Longhaired Licar, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the Chorde.
