The Bundedemokratische Republik of Aequatio is a gargantuan, economically powerful nation, ruled by Wilhelm Greiz with an even hand, and notable for its complete absence of social welfare. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 18.314 billion are either ruled by a sleek, efficient government or a conglomerate of multinational corporations; it's difficult to tell which.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Defence, Law & Order, and Education. The average income tax rate is 96%. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Book Publishing industry.

Military geniuses responsible for brilliant campaigns are drummed out because they have close same-sex friends and an interest in interior design, the fire protection service is wholly government-funded, strict term limits have been applied to all elected offices, and the government has cut taxes in the face of widespread tax evasion. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Aequatio's national animal is the Domo-Kun, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the Aequatian marke.

Aequatio is ranked 49th in Osiris and 2,373rd in the world for Most Rebellious Youth, scoring 33 on the Stark-Dean Displacement Index.
